The New Forest National Park is truly unique. A place of outstanding natural beauty, the unique landscape is shaped by the grazing of ponies, cattle and pigs that roam freely. One of the last places in southern England to offer a sense of wildness and tranquillity, it’s a wonderful area to explore on foot, horseback, or by bike. Indeed William the Conqueror, who set aside the ‘New Forest’ for hunting more than 900 years ago, would probably recognise much of it today.
In the heart of the glorious New Forest, Beaulieu is one of the South's top visitor attractions. The National Motor Museum, home to over 250 vehicles telling the history of motoring. Ride on the high level Monorail or climb aboard the replica 1912 open top London bus for a fun way to see Beaulieu's sights.
Enjoy the amazing animals at this beautiful park, in the leafy New Forest, with its fabulous adventure playgrounds. Follow the woodland trails to see wallaby, European bison, wolves, wild boar, Scottish wildcats, lynx, foxes, pine marten, polecats, owls and ferrets. Meet the friendly deer and say hi to the playful otters, including the endangered giant otter.
Sammy Miller MBE is a motorcycling legend, 11 times British Champion, winner of over 1400 events and still winning competitions more than 50 years after his first victory. The Museum houses one of the finest collections of fully restored motorcycles in the world, including factory racers and exotic prototypes, with the collection constantly evolving as new bikes is acquired. There are over 400 rare and classic motorcycles on display in four galleries - one of which showcases the fabulous Norton Collection.
Situated ten miles north of Bournemouth, the leafy outdoor hideout at Moors Valley Country Park is famous for its adventurous woodland play and cycling trails. The Dorset adventure not only boasts a double Tarzan Swing it also features a Skateboard Zip for visitors to jump onboard. Go Ape Forest Segway and Tree Top Junior are also available.
The New Forest Reptile Centre houses a unique collection of all the native lizards, snakes, frogs and toads, including the adder, the only venomous species of snake living in Britain. The centre is seasonal and closed while the native snakes, lizards, frogs and toads are hibernating. Open during weekends from: 4th April until 2nd September 2020.
